May 22, 2023 - Minnie's Name Character

So here we are again, with nine days left and four out of my eight planned posts for this month done. I had planned to do Minnie’s Wanda interview at 6pm yesterday (that’s kind of what the equivalent of the time in the email is but I’m not completely sure…) but I completely forgot to do anything interesting about Minnie. So no interview; but here is my filler post while I write what will hopefully be a packed ending to May.

Every time I design a name character I have to look back at my rules/reference sheet - these things aren’t easy.

This is definitely the most literal one I’ve done - it looks like a pitaya. Okay, maybe it’s the dollar store/thrifted from the 1920s version, but it’s not just a random scribble. It’s symmetrical. That’s new, right? As always, the formula is two loops for the two syllables in the name Minnie (min-ee), five lines, one for each letter, and three strokes, one for each vowel. If you’d like to design a name character for Minnie, I’d be happy to see it :)
