February 8, 2023 - February Introduction Post

In my history class, we’re learning about China. Broad, I know, but for simplicity’s sake, we’re learning about the history of China. And in China, the writing system is characters that, in traditional Chinese, each mean a singular word (but I think you can combine characters to make other words). Being able to write these characters is/was, at least in the time period we’re learning about, was a pretty good thing to know how to do - if you had good handwriting, you were probably a good person (not necessarily morally, more like… educated and stuff?). The art of pretty Chinese writing is called calligraphy. That’s Nora’s Talent.Gosh, I haven’t been here in a while. School is hard, y’all. But I have a new theme this month (as always, duh) and I have a new character to go along with it. I don’t remember if I’ve mentioned this before, because all the Mainlanders are what we’d describe as female, but, the Goddess based her world off the most perfect things on Earth (eliminating all the bad stuff) which also explains how Themes work if WU isn’t Earth.
This month's character is Nora Lychee - I tried to make her outfit look like a lychee (with the dark red/pink outside and the light pink inside) ... Not sure how well it turned out? Also I decided to give her glasses because lychees are round and glasses can be round too... It's a bit of a stretch, but you get the idea. Speaking of glasses, she doesn't have an eye problem. It's literally just for fashion. Some people wear a specific thing all the time, and for some Mainlanders, that's glasses. Which leads me to add that there are no doctors in the Mainland because no one gets sick or hurt. Those things aren't very perfect, are they.

If you look at the bottom of her image, you’ll see that it says “MY DOLL MAKER” and the name of the creator. I made this on a public character design site where people can upload their own makers, and this is one of them. I recently discovered this one and I realized how perfectly it fits with the WU concept - Mainlanders are like dolls/puppets in a way, perfectly controlled by the Goddess, their lives and stories planned out for them. I just found that interesting. So if you see characters that look like this in the next few months, that’s why.

Also don’t ask me why she’s holding an oil lamp - that makes no sense but I don’t feel like going back and editing it, so that’s what you get :)
