December 8, 2022 - The Goddess Part 2

The Goddess has a voice, and perhaps her voice is the most interesting part of this story.

-

Her voice is honey dripping from a spoon.

Her voice is the comfort of home, of familiarity, of love.

Her voice distracts you from all the imperfections and injustices in the world.

Her voice fans your flames of desire, twisting and crackling, ready to burn everything down.

Her voice lures you into her illusion, her utopia, and you would never even realize until it’s too late.

Her voice distracts you from the cracks in her facade of perfection, instead showing you the bedazzling magic and fantastical magnificence in her world.

Her voice is maroon velvet, an elegant evening dress perfect to wear for a night of forgetting your troubles.

Her voice is lavender silk, swirling around as she twirls through the ballroom and catches everyone’s eye, for better or worse.

Her voice.

-

The oceans here are made of tears. Tears shed by the Goddess’ four daughters when the Goddess disappeared from the universe, leaving her daughters with only her voice to console them.

“This is the way of the world, my darlings. But your tears will allow us to make a world where this is not the case. Join me, my darlings. Join me in creating a world where no one has to feel pain ever again.”

The daughters agreed, as one does. Their pain was unbearable - no one else should suffer like this, they said. A magical world where everyone is always happy and no one ever feels the pain of loss, that sounds perfect, they said.

So no, this universe wasn’t created to destroy something, or to be fake, or to introduce failure and mourning to people who’ve never even experienced simple disappointment. This universe was created to heal. To bring happiness and eliminate pain. To grieve by helping others and ensuring their lives never broke the way the daughters’ did.

The oceans are made of tears.

The world, made from pain.

And her voice. Her voice is made from honey and fire and maroon velvet and lavender silk.
