December 7, 2022 - The Goddess

Hi!

I am the Goddess. Okay, not really. I’m an Indian girl in middle school - I only have so much power.
But in this world, I’m the Goddess. I control everything; hair colors, personalities, hearts, security,
magic, superiority, love, uniformity, happiness... Everything. This is my world, after all.

The Goddess created Wanderland Univerze. She drew it with crayon on a faded piece of paper from
the bottom of the stack in the printer. She picked up a dandelion and wished to make it a real world.
She wrote people and fantasies and magic into existence to distract from the crumbling reality
around her.

Believing in the Goddess isn’t a religion with supernatural beings - it’s a fact. A truth of the world.
Grass is green, the sky is blue, imperfections show weakness*, the Goddess exists. Universal truths.

This story is carefully calibrated. Things that seem unexpected aren’t. The Goddess makes
everything happen for a reason. The inevitable rebellion, the falling of the Wall, the destruction of
the Forest of Beyond, the tears and worry and death and pain that will transform this utopia into
something else. Something magical. Something real.

Do you think it’d be nice to live in a world where someone knows exactly how your life will end?

The Goddess ends a story when there is nothing left to tell. If only your lives could be like that.

Do you think it’d be nice to live in a world where everything about you, from your physical person to
your heart and mind and secrets, was written by someone else?

The Goddess watches the aliens on a planet they call Earth, gawking at their obnoxious
imperfections and mistakes but writing their successes and smiles into the lives of her people. As she
watches, she wonders if her people would like to live in a world where nothing was really predictable,
or if they like to live in her world where nothing was really real.

Do you think it’d be nice to live in a world where everything is perfect?

This story is just beginning, so you know little about this world. You may think that this universe is
perfect, a utopia where everyone is happy and skilled and praised and, well, perfect. But soon the
pages will turn, and you will learn. I look forward to dropping stones into the Lake of Lies, distorting
this heavenly picture into something darker.

*Note: Imperfections do not show weakness. This is supposed to represent the “values” of this
universe, and the idea that this world and everyone in it (even the Apets, they have to be perfect at
being inferior, but we’ll discuss that later) must be perfect.*
