December 6, 2022 - The Myrin More-Than-Monthly #1

Hi!

Happy Friday, wonderful reader(s)! I hope you like my theme this month (ladybugs, if you’ve forgotten, in which case I’m terribly offended…). This month will definitely have more explanations. But I’ll try to do something with our character, Myrin (side note - it’s pronounced mee rin. Everyone, repeat after me: mee rin. *mee rin!* Very good, gold stars for everyone.). How about we start with something similar to Edition Ellie #1 - basic character information? Here’s a refresher of what Myrin looks like:

She’s so cute~ I have a shirt that looks very similar to the red collared shirt that she’s wearing except her plaid is red and black but mine is red and white. Actually, I don’t have many red clothes. Anyways, Myrin has a cute little sweater thingy over it. She’s wearing plain black pants and imagine her wearing little ladybug earrings (I’m going hardcore into the Miraculous thing lol). And if anyone cares, her hair tie is bright red.

Let’s see, what else did I put in Edition Ellie #1? Oh, what kind of drink she is! Hmmmm. Myrin is soft spoken and barely 5 feet tall. She’s not particularly opinionated and prefers to express her (disappointingly uninteresting) personality through her (remarkably plain) fashion label, M’Ladybug (Yes, that is directly taken from Miraculous Ladybug, the magic cat boy calls the magic bug girl ‘milady’ all the tim and it’s super cringey-). I can do a full proper post just for that, if you want. Basically, M’Ladybug sells simple dresses that you can wear pretty much anywhere.

Myrin has 3 sketchbooks of dress designs. The first one is a dull dark red the color of dried blood with a few black flowers on the top right side of the cover. That book is for classic dresses in M’Ladybug’s signature fabric, a bright fire-truck red with scattered black spots. The second notebook is dark gray, a stormcloud balancing on the precipice of exploding in rain, and the elastic holding it closed is that painful pink-ish color of a sunburn. This book is for plain black dresses in the style of a traditional bridesmaids dress, long and silky and gorgeous, but predictable. Some of them have red stitching around the bodice or red beads along the hem, but none of the accents are necessarily innovative. The last notebook is the more secret one - it’s a fully-bloomed-roses shade of red with an inky black trim. This notebook is the one Myrin hides in the tree in her backyard when the quarterly home inspections come around (To be explained…) . This notebook is the interesting one, full of sketches of frilly purple lace skirts and deep maroon velvet bodices and bright blue corduroy jumpers. None of these designs would show up in M’Ladybug’s collection - much too “outlandish” and not fitting the M’Ladybug aesthetic. Also those clothes are different colors, not the red and black of M’Ladybug’s classic clothing. No straying from the pattern, remember? Everything is as it should be, perfectly choreographed and maintained.
