November 29, 2022 - Wanda Wonder
Hi!
Oh my gosh I’m so excited for this post, you don’t understand. If you read Wonderland of My Creation, then you know where this is going. There’s this girl named Wanda Wonder and she has a talk show called Who, What, When, Where, Why, with Wanda Wonder! where she interviews people and goes on “adventures” and talks about non-controversial stuff.
In Wonderland of My Creation, I did this one-time-thing where I had two characters for one month - Fiona Apple and Wanda *Wonder*. I’m going to do that again in the future, but I ask you one thing: please don’t go read those posts to spoil what happens. I’m going to rewrite Wanda’s story, but for now, she’s an interviewer/a side character. She only interviews “important people”, as in politicians from the Capetol, business owners from the Mainland, retired Guards (those people who stand around the Wall that separates the Mainland and Capetol), etc. People can email her to request an interview or she can reach out to them. In this case, Wanda emailed Ellie because Ellie did something cool - She made a big mosaic mural for the Geology Research Center in the Mainland.
The mosaic is quite stunning, made of glittering greens and bleeding reds and velvety purples and sunny yellows and deep blues and bright oranges , with shards made of glass and the gemstones that the mosaic is of. It’s basically of a bunch of geodes and growing crystals and it looks like they dissolve into the midnight blue background at the edges of the shapes. It’s gorgeous.
First order of business, Ellie’s interview outfit. The photo I showed you is of Ellie in her normal working clothes, but this is an interview on the rectangular potato (I’m not even kidding, someone has to help me name this. I’m losing my mind.) ‘s most famous (and only) talk show! She has to look nice. Ellie’s color palette is based in greenish grays with little accents of bright green and
So for these interviews, I’ll do transcripts of them. The italicized parentheses aren’t part of their dialogue - those are just my little comments / notes. (They look like this.)

Wanda: Hello, wanderers and wonderers, and welcome back to Who, What, When, Where, Why! I’m your host Wanda Wonder, and today we have quite an absolutely extraordinary guest. She’s a Mainland artist and she just recently completed a beautiful installation for the Geology Research Center, everyone, please give a very warm welcome to Ellie Emerald! How are you today, Ellie?
*cheering*
Ellie: *waves* Hi Wanda, I’m doing good. I’m excited to be here.
Wanda: *laughs* We’re happy to have you! How about we jump right in, eh? First question, who are you?
Ellie: *smiles* Well, my name is Ellie Emerald, I’m 28 Astros (I’ll explain how their time works on January 1st as a Happy New Year thing, but she’s ~15 years old), almost 29, my Talent is making mosaics, and I just finished my first officially commissioned project, the mosaic for the GRC.
Wanda: Wow, a project that big at only 28! What an inspiration. Next question, what was your inspiration and process for the mosaic mural?
Ellie: I mean, since it was commissioned and all, I was kinda told that it was supposed to revolve around gemstones and their natural beauty cause it’s the GRC and all, and the background should be dark blue because all the accents on the exterior of the building like the trim and door handles and stuff are dark blue, so, yeah. But other than that I was pretty much allowed to do whatever I wanted. They accepted my second design, cause my first was of iconic gemstone-Themed predecessors, like Kyra Amethyst and Tammy Topaz (Both of these people are old characters of mine, Kyra Amethyst was October 2020 and Tammy Topaz was August 2021, honestly neither of them are particularly special but I believe they are the only gemstone characters I’ve properly had, so that’s what you get.) , but they didn’t want me to put specific people ‘cause that’s implying that some predecessors are more important than others (Everything is perfect and equal in the Mainland, so Ellie’s idea was quite outlandish. She actually got in a little trouble, and had to pay a small fine for “possibly attempting to disrupt the universal historic equilibrium of the Mainland”.) which is definitely not what I wanted to do, so I came up with this.
Wanda: Oh, yeah, definitely no predecessors. *laughs* Your ending design is fantastic though, so it’s alright! Let’s keep going; when did you start the mural and where did you get the inspiration?
Ellie: Hmm, I mean, I got an email about it a couple Orbits (another time thing) after my Graduation (similar to, uh, college maybe? It’s like training for the” real world”...) and I pretty much immediately started designing the first draft I mentioned earlier. Settling on the final design took a little bit cause my first one got rejected but soon enough I was ready to start collecting materials and stuff. That took a while, because I like to custom-order my glass, especially for projects like this where I can't just use, I don't know, a broken plate. Also the pieces of actual gemstones in there too. So prep took about an Orbit and a half and then I was finally ready to start. I did it all on my own, and I don't know if you guys have seen the actual thing, but it's pretty big so it took me a while but I definitely think it was worth it. As for inspiration, I just wanted to include a bunch of colors and since it was the GRC it all just sort of worked out.
Wanda: Gosh, that's a lot of effort! It was definitely worth it though, don't you guys agree? *audience cheers, Ellie smiles shyly, Wanda laughs* Okay, last question of the night:
Wanda and Studio Audience: Why are you so fabulous?
Ellie: Gosh, fabulous! I mean, I'm precise so I think my mosaics can turn out really nicely and I love making these detailed and over-stimulating art pieces.
Wanda: Yep, definitely fabulous! Alrighty, thank you so much for coming on the show today Ellie. And thank you, wanderers and wonderers, for joining us today. See you soon!
*audience cheers, Wanda and Ellie wave goodbye*

Well. Did you enjoy the interview? Wanda is a perky person, all exclamation points and affirmations. Ellie talks more than I thought, but her answers are detailed, so it fits with her character. I can't promise that every character will come on Wanda's show - I just wanted to introduce it and have it at the back of your big smart brains for later.
